Friends of Hue Foundation partners with the Wheelchair Foundation to provide mobility support to individuals with disabilities in Central Vietnam. Through local coordination and community outreach, the program ensures that wheelchairs reach those who need them most—restoring independence, dignity, and access to daily life.
The FHF Wheelchair Distribution Program focuses on identifying and supporting individuals with limited mobility who do not have access to proper assistive equipment. Working in partnership with the Wheelchair Foundation, which delivers wheelchairs globally to individuals who cannot afford them, Friends of Hue manages the local implementation of the program in Central Vietnam. Wheelchairs are received, stored, and assembled at the FHF Children’s Shelter. From there, the team works closely with the community to identify recipients and organize distribution events or direct home deliveries.
Access to mobility can transform daily life. For individuals living with disabilities, a wheelchair provides the ability to move freely, participate in community life, and regain independence. Globally, organizations like the Wheelchair Foundation work with local partners to distribute wheelchairs at scale, helping address the significant gap in access to mobility aids. Through this program, Friends of Hue ensures that these resources reach communities in Central Vietnam in a direct, compassionate, and organized way.
Each distribution day is not just about providing equipment—it is about connection. Families, volunteers, and community members come together to support one another.
