Emergency Interim Housing (EIH)
Provides temporary ‘tiny homes’ for the City’s most vulnerable houseless people as an emergency COVID-19 response. Units for single adults and/or couples have individualized climate control, a bathroom with a shower as well as shared amenities such as laundry facilities, kitchen/pantry/dining hall, computer lab, dog run, container gardens, on-site support and more.

EIH Eligibility
• Must be an adult 18 years of age or older
• Must not posses a conviction for 290, arson or production of methamphetamines
• Must be referred through Santa Clara County Emergency Worker
• Must meet the medical criteria determined by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department guidelines for vulnerable to COVID-19 population
• Must sign Community Guidelines agreement

Support for residents who are homeless:

County Shelter Crisis Line: Homeless individuals, families, and organizations that need information about temporary shelter during the COVID-19 pandemic, This line is open for adults 18 and older 9am-6pm seven days per week.

Milpitas Homelessness Outreach – is to provide direct outreach and case management services to persons experiencing homelessness in Milpitas.

Milpitas Mobile Shower and Laundry: is to provide free hot showers and laundry service.
